The 11th of October every year is the celebration of the International Day of the Girl Child. This day was officially adopted by Resolution No. 66/170 of the General Assembly of the United Nations in December, 2011 and declared as a special day to remember the girl child who faces various challenges caused by the violation of her rights here on Earth. On this day, the main focus is on the challenges facing the girl child at the same time setting strategies to build her capacity so that she can realize herself and develop herself educationally, socially and economically. This day is also used to educate the community about the rights of girls, which are education, protection against acts of violence, participation in various decisions and the opportunity to participate in economic activities. According to the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child, The theme that will be used for this year 2023 is the same as last year which is; “Our time is now; Our right, Our future''.
