💙 500+ GIRLS. Aproject SAFER PLACE TO LEARN.

Imagine being 14 years old, sitting in class, but worried about whether you have a safe and private place to go when you need it.

For more than 500 girls at Itwelele Secondary School in Rukwa, that worry can now be different.

Community for Change Organization (COCO), with support from The Rukwa Foundation, has completed a modern girls’ sanitation facility at the school.

For a girl, this is not simply a new building.

It is a place where she can:

🌸 Step away with privacy and dignity
🧼 Wash her hands and take care of her hygiene safely
❤️ Manage her period without unnecessary fear or embarrassment
📚 Return to class feeling comfortable and confident
🏫 Spend more of her school day focused on learning—not worrying

And behind the number 500+ are 500+ individual girls.

500+ dreams.
500+ stories.
500+ futures.

A safe toilet may seem small to many of us.

But to a girl at school, privacy can mean confidence. Hygiene can mean health. Dignity can mean staying in class.

This is why WASH matters.

This is why girls’ education matters.

And this is why we must keep investing in schools where every girl can learn, grow and dream without unnecessary barriers. 💙
